Every time you heat a buffer solution, dissolve a powder, or pour a filtrate, a small beaker with a spout is being used. The most common beaker is the low-form or Griffin beaker, which has a height that is roughly 1.4 times its diameter, giving it a broad and stable shape. It has a flared rim, a spout that helps decant the beaker, and a rim that is safe to handle. The shape is universal because it and the design balances mixing and heating of the contents as well as safe handling during most common laboratory procedures.

The geometry and materials used to make beakers are standardized and regulated internationally. ISO 3819 specifies the sizes, tolerances, and types of materials. It also lists the most ideal and cost-effective material, borosilicate glass 3.3, used for its thermal and chemical durability.

Low-form profile (Griffin style) for fast heating and cooling as well as stable stirring.

Drip-reduced pouring with a spout, providing better laminar flow that pours into funnels, cylinders, or flasks.

Printed graduations for quick volume estimates, though volumetric ware should still be used for precise measurements. Beaker graduations are approximate; for analytical measurements, use a Class-A precision volumetric flask, or a volumetric cylinder.

The borosilicate glass 3.3 is per ISO standards for high thermal-shock and chemical resistance.

Transparent glass allows for the visualization of chemical changes, particulates, or phase separations.

Custom OEM (logos, custom print, and packaging) are available and sample lead times are typically 5 days.
