Imagine the following scenario: you are either performing a sensitive chemical reaction or you are adding a reagent to a microbial culture where the protocol specifies that 3.5 mL are required. The tool you have, however, cannot provide an accurate measure of the required volume. Estimating the volume with the tool introduces variation. Moreover, it may be inconvenient to use a micropipette, which can be very costly, especially for routine work or when dealing with corrosive reagents.
This is a common problem in laboratories all over the world.
Experimental science, especially when dealing with small amounts of liquids, requires great accuracy and the ability to repeat experiments. The traditional glass droppers are very convenient, but do not allow the measurement of volume, and precision pipettes can be very expensive with a high frequency of required calibration.
To solve this problem, the Glass Graduated Dropper with Rubber Bulb was designed.
They are designed to measure and dispense small volumes of liquids with great precision.
There are graduation marks inscribed in the glass tube, which allows users to transfer liquids with much greater consistency and confidence when compared to ordinary droppers.
Huida Medical provides glass graduated droppers with rubber bulbs and with borosilicate glass. They are:
Optically clear
Chemically resistant
Graduated for easy measurement
Easy to suck up liquids
Bulbs that are easy to substitute
Completely reusable
Environmentally Friendly.
The graduation marks allow the users to measure liquid volumes visually, which improves consistency when compared to ordinary droppers.
The dropper's construction with laboratory-grade borosilicate glass provides resistance to most laboratory chemicals including:Acids、Alkalis、Alkalis、Alcohols、Organic solvents、Laboratory buffers.
● Release of liquid with better control and greater ease
● Comfortable one-handed operation
● Different bulb colors help distinguish capacities quickly.
● Cost Effective and Eco Friendly
Glass graduated droppers can be cleaned, sterilized, and reused many times, unlike disposable plastic droppers. This makes the droppers cost effective and eco-friendly, providing a solution to laboratory waste.
| Volume (mL) | Tube Outer Diameter (mm) | Tip Outer Diameter (mm) | Total Length with Cap (mm) | Weight (g) | Bulb Color |
| 0.5 | 6.5 | 2.7 | 231 | 16 | Red |
| 1 | 6.7 | 2.7 | 231 | 14 | Red |
| 2 | 7.7 | 3.2 | 222 | 12 | Red |

Reading the Graduation Marks
Step 1
The dropper is held vertically.
Step 2
The graduation mark is read at the lowest point of the liquid meniscus.
Step 3
Parallax error is eliminated by reading the liquid level with the eye.
1. Drawing Liquid into the Rubber Bulb
Excessive suction may cause liquid to enter the rubber bulb, contaminating or damaging the rubber.
Recommendation:
Draw the liquid slowly and stop before it reaches the top of the glass tube.
2. Blowing Out the Last Drop
Many lab droppers are calibrated for accurate dispensing. Forcing out the remaining liquid may result in dispensing more than the calibration value.
Always check the calibration specifications before use.
3. Using the Dropper Horizontally
Holding the dropper at too wide an angle increases the risk of liquid flowing back into the rubber bulb and reduces dispensing accuracy.
Always keep the dropper as vertical as possible.
For the last two decades, Huida Medical has supplied laboratory consumables to clients around the world.

F:Is the glass graduated dropper autoclavable?
Q:Yes.The borosilicate glass tube can handle autoclave sterilization at 121 °C as a standard setting. High temperature sterilization may reduce the rubber bulb's elasticity. The bulb should be replaced and inspected periodically.
F:How is the dropper cleaned?
Q:The glass tube should be rinsed with deionized water, ethanol, or an appropriate lab cleaning solution immediately after use.
A lab cleaning brush can be used to remove stubborn cleaning residues. The tube can be left to air dry or dried in an oven at low temperature.
F:Does the graduation say “To Deliver (TD)” or “To Contain (TC)”?
Q:Laboratory glass graduated droppers are generally graduated and calibrated as To Deliver (TD) instruments. This means that the volume of the graduation line is the total amount dispensed with the dropper, and the last drop is not blown out.
You are encouraged to check the specifications of the dropper in question.
Precision in liquid handling is important to ensure that reliable results are obtained in chemical analysis, microbiological studies, and pharmaceutical and life science testing.
